How to find a lost iPhone with Find My iPhone, even if it's offline.

Step 1: Using Another Apple Device or iCloud

You can locate your lost iPhone from Another iPhone, iPad, or Mac using the Find My app, or Any device, by going to iCloud.com/find and signing in using your Apple ID.

Step 2: Check the Last Known Location

If your iPhone is offline You’ll still see its last known location on the map. If it comes back online later you will receive a notification with the updated location.

Step 3: Use the “Find My Network” Feature (iOS 15+)

If your iPhone is running iOS 15 or later, you can find it even when it’s powered off or offline. Here’s how it works: Nearby Apple devices (iPhones, Macs, iPads) detect your lost iPhone’s Bluetooth signal. They send its encrypted location to Apple’s servers anonymously. You can then see it in the Find My app or on iCloud.com. Make sure that “Find My network” was turned on before the iPhone was lost. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Find My → Find My iPhone → Find My network (should be toggled on).

Step 4: Mark It as Lost

In the Find My app or iCloud.com, select your missing iPhone. Tap “Mark As Lost” or “Lost Mode”. Enter a contact number or message to be shown on the lock screen. This will: Lock your iPhone remotely. Track its location. Prevent others from accessing your data.

Step 5: Play a Sound or Get Directions If it’s nearby and online: Tap Play Sound to help locate it. If it’s farther away: Tap Directions to get to its last known location. You can choose Erase iPhone remotely in order to protect your data. Even after erasing, the device remains Activation Locked, so no one else can use it.

⚙️ Bonus Tip: Check Your Find My Settings (Before Losing It) To ensure this works in the future: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Find My → Find My iPhone Turn on: Find My iPhone Find My network Send Last Location

Disable control center when locked

How to Disable Control Center on Lock Screen:

Open Settings  app on your iPhone then  Go to Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode On Face ID devices: tap Face ID & Passcode. On Touch ID devices, tap Touch ID & Passcode then Enter your code

You will then be asked to enter your device passcode to access these settings. Scroll to “Allow Access When Locked” Inside the Face ID/Touch ID & Passcode screen you’ll see a section titled Allow Access When Locked – it’s a list of toggles. Turn off Control Center Find Control Center in that list and toggle it off – so the switch is not green. Confirm behavior Lock your device and test: swipe down (or on older devices, swipe up) — Control Center should not appear while the phone is locked.

Find my phone setting

Apple’s Find My app makes it easy to locate your lost iPhone and share your location with friends and family. To set up Find My iPhone, open Settings and tap your Apple ID name at the top. Then select Find My, tap Find My iPhone, and turn it on. Make sure to also enable Find My Network, which helps locate your phone even if it’s offline or turned off, and switch on Send Last Location so your iPhone automatically sends its location to Apple when the battery is low. Once these options are enabled, you can track your device anytime using the Find My app on another Apple device or by signing in to iCloud.com/find.

To share your location with friends, open the Find My app, tap the People tab, and choose Share My Location. Enter the name, phone number, or Apple ID of the person you want to share with, and then select how long you’d like to share — for one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely. After sending the request, your friend will receive a notification and can choose to share their location back with you. If your location isn’t sharing, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Find My and ensure Share My Location is turned on. Keeping both Find My iPhone and Share My Location enabled ensures you can always find your devices and stay connected with people you trust, wherever you go.

Convert sim to E-sim

Switching from a physical SIM card to an eSIM on your iPhone is quick and convenient. An eSIM (embedded SIM) lets you activate your mobile plan digitally without needing a physical SIM card. To convert your existing SIM to an eSIM, start by opening the Settings app on your iPhone and tap Cellular or Mobile Data. Then, select your current SIM plan and tap Convert to eSIM if the option appears. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm and activate the eSIM. Your carrier will transfer your phone number and data plan automatically, and your physical SIM will be deactivated once the process is complete. If you don’t see the “Convert to eSIM” option, check if your carrier supports eSIM or contact them for help — they can send you a QR code or activation link to complete the setup manually. After activation, make sure your cellular plan shows as active under Settings → Cellular, and you can remove your physical SIM card from the tray. Converting to eSIM not only saves space but also makes it easier to manage multiple lines or switch carriers without needing a new SIM card.
